SAT stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test. SAT test is an important standardized test taken by students for college admissions in USA. Every college and university has different criteria and they place different weights on the SAT test. Some colleges require other standardized test like ACT while some does not require any at all. SAT test is conducted to test how well students are able to apprehend texts.

Poor readers who lack in having satisfactory vocabulary skills often are not able to understand what they read.

As a result reading becomes tuff for them and in the end they are unable to take large amount of SAT practice vocabulary tests. Whereas those readers who read more becomes even better and are able to learn more SAT words quickly. So the problems of vocabulary in students who enter school with poor or limited vocabulary skills only worsen over time.

Priority of students should be to improve their SAT vocabulary and to achieve success in college and future life. In high school there are many practices done to revise the current vocabulary and reading and learning new words. Vocabulary is a fundamental first principal in all the studies. There are often vocabulary quizzes conducted by schools every week to test strength and the abilities of the students.

It also checks whether the students have apprehended new vocabularies. From here, the students are assigned to use new vocabularies in their essays and comprehensions.

Some teachers take use of a vocabulary book that lists new vocabulary words and have assignment for students like, complete the sentences, filling synonyms or antonyms and choosing the best meaning of a word linked to the story. Sometimes for much more, students use online sites to improve their vocabulary.

Learning new vocabulary is exciting as children got to know and learn the meaning of new words. This helps them to prepare for harder high school courses such as SAT. High School Vocabulary improves the speaking pattern of a student and improves their knowledge. It is exciting to learn new words and there is no end to it. Neither anyone can master it nor can anyone stay away from it. The only thing one can do is to get better and better.
