Small, wifi-enabled with the ability to print from tablets and smartphones, low-cost printing, equipped with a touchscreen, relatively inexpensive, fast?looks like a shopping list for the?perfect printer, right? And that?s what Brother might have in their just-launched?MFC-J4510DW, a sleek printer with Google Cloud Print connectivity and a price tag of $200 (though I?d love an explanation as to why Brother has stuck with alphabet-soup product names while its competitors have moved on to printers with names like ?Artisan? and ?Envy?).
Unfortunately for iOS users, the J4510DW forgoes AirPrint in favor of cloud-based services like Google?s Cloud Print service, Brother?s own printing service and Cortado Workplace.
The printer is duplex-capable and can print at page sizes of up to 11?17, which Brother says is about as big as the printer?s footprint ? impressive. ?Printing speeds are likewise very zippy at up to 35 ppm in black and 27 ppm in color. If print quality holds up under scrutiny, Brother may have a winner here ? especially for users with Android in their pockets.
