The locavore-themed restaurant Northeast Kingdom, 18 Wyckoff Avenue (Troutman Street), in Bushwick, Brooklyn, throws a ?King Arthur? dinner on Friday named after a pig the restaurant has raised in upstate New York. A free Friday night tasting takes place at Food Cellar & Co. Market, 4-85 47th Road, in Long Island City, Queens, from 7 to 10 p.m. Locally made products, from cured meats to gluten-free pudding from New York Natural Pudding Co., will be featured at this organic market.
The Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture is hosting a series of home canning workshops, and this Saturday?s class will focus on making jams from summer fruits. Lauri McBride, formerly of Beth?s Farms Kitchen, will lead the class, which runs from 1 to 3 p.m. at 53 Prospect Park West (between First and Second Street), in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The $20 fee includes a jar of jam to bring home; there are some scholarships available. Children over the age of 10 are welcome to join for free if they attend with a paying adult.

People?s Pop, which recently started selling its frozen ice pops in grocery stores, has partnered with Kim Crawford Wines in creating sauvignon blanc-infused strawberry lemongrass popsicles, which are being sold for $5 each through August at the Chelsea Market location, 75 Ninth Avenue (between 15th and 16th Streets).
